I've noticed every grade does it differently.
Kindergarten - the birthday student gets to decorate a crown with stickers and markers. They get to wear it all day.
1st grade- They get to use 10 stickers and markers to decorate a crazy cut (scissors) piece of construction paper and it hangs on a bulletin board for the entire day
*She also bought a special birthday plate the birthday boy/girl gets to eat their treat on.
2nd grade- Birthday child gets to work at the teacher's desk all day
2nd grade-Extra recess for students who don't bring treats and a birthday book. The birthday child decorates the cover (construction paper folded in half) and each child gets to create a page to be put in the book.
Fifth grade- student gets to pick 4 friends to go have lunch with the teacher. The teacher gets a piece of butcher paper and uses it as a giant birthday card the students get to sign, and also a mat for the students to eat on.
The kids love this!
