I was handed a birthday invitation today from one of my first graders.
After talking to my host teacher about how she will handle getting a birthday invitation, here is what we have decided.
First couple of times you get invited say, "I'm sorry I have family plans". Then by the third of forth birthday invitation you can say, "you know I didn't get to go to So and So's birthday and X's birthday. Thank you for the invite, but I think I'll have to say I won't be attending"
Make sure to say we celebrate it at school and I give you a small little gift.
