At the beginning of the year have the students draw a self-portriat.
tape it to black paper so there is a small black boarder around the edges. laminate and hang up in the room.
at the end of the year have the students draw another self-portrait and follow the above mentioned steps.
use the first one to create the front of their writing portfolio and use the latest one as the back cover
